LEAP 3:

Using Research and Practice to Inform the Reading Instruction of Elementary School Struggling Readers


Audience: Elementary school classroom teachers and administrators

Time Needed: 5 hours, 10 minutes

Purposes:

This Literacy Exploration Activity Plan (LEAP) will help elementary classroom teachers and administrators:

  • Become familiar with recent research on programs and principles of instruction for elementary school struggling readers.
  • Reflect on their own work with struggling readers and use these reflections to inform their current instruction.
  • Understand what impacts elementary school struggling readers the most.
  • Receive support for using effective principles of instruction in their work with elementary school struggling readers.
