For more than 20 years, the SERVE Center at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro has been a trusted resource in responding to the research needs of educators as they improve educational outcomes. In the last six years, we have responded to over 900 requests for information, including: state and district policy scans, annotated bibliographies of empirical studies, research summaries, and the evidence on the effectiveness of interventions and professional development programs. We recognize that the need for information arises quickly as policies and initiatives are planned, implemented, or revised. Our expert staff have access to a wide range of educational resources from which to collect and summarize the research and best practices you need when it comes time to make evidence-based decisions concerning policies, program planning, intervention effectiveness, implementation issues, or educational concerns.
EXPERIENCED STAFF: SERVE’s Evidence-Based Education Resource Desk is staffed by analysts experienced and skilled in the principles of evidence-informed decision-making and with the ability to effectively synthesize information.
COMPREHENSIVE SOURCES: We have comprehensive knowledge of the online resources available through the websites of educational policy and research organizations, U. S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences. Staff is also skilled at searching the extensive electronic databases of education-related, peer-reviewed journals.
