The
main cause of homelessness is lack of affordable housing.
While the housing issue alone is enough to cause homelessness,
when coupled with other factors, such as low wages,
unemployment, domestic violence and illness, the risks
increase. Children experiencing homelessness have
great challenges. High mobility creates significant
difficulties for students to obtain educational opportunities.
