Consortium
for Research on Educational Accountability and Teacher Evaluation
(CREATE)
CREATE
is an organization that provides a forum for educators in
the area of evaluations, including student, program, and
personnel. Its annual conference draws a wide range of practitioners
and researchers from around the nation.
Council
of Chief State School Officers
Among
its many issues, this consortium of state superintendents
supports standards of practice for new teachers through
the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium
(INTASC) and for school administrators through the Interstate
School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC).
The
Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation
This
site provides access to the Personnel Evaluation Standards
(published by Sage, a division of Corwin Press) that guide
best practices in all personnel evaluations in educational
settings.
The
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
Established
in the late 1980's, the National Board set standards for
accomplished teachers. Guided by the Five Core Propositions,
each set of standards reflects the content (subject matter)
and age of student (early child, middle childhood, early
adolescent, etc.) thus recognizing the deep knowledge of
both pedagogy and child development required for accomplished
teaching.

of the mentor and the learning needs of the new principal.
