Comprehensive School Reform (CSR) Formative Evaluation Database (CSRFED)

The CSRFED consists of several instruments aligned to the CSR indicators that will collect information about the knowledge and involvement of participants in implementing an effective CSR model. The three types of instruments available online are:

  1. Questionnaires (students, parents, teachers, and administrators): The questionnaire is a way for stakeholders to provide feedback about their knowledge, satisfaction, and awareness of their school’s CSR model.
  2. Focus Group Protocols (students, parents, and teachers): Focus groups are a means to evaluate services or test new ideas. The use of focus groups may increase the likelihood of greater participant feedback about the school’s CSR model.
  3. Interview Protocols (students, parents, teachers, and administrators): The third instrument developed by SERVE to measure school stakeholder CSR feedback is the interview. Interviews will be administered by the research coordinator to further question individuals and to obtain accurate, detailed feedback. Conducting interviews will enable the research coordinators to obtain knowledge about participants’ involvement in implementing CSR.

  • Review and download the three types of online evaluation tools and instructions.
  • Read tips for administering the interviews, questionnaires, and focus groups.
  • Review steps to analyze the results and share with staff and school community. (Coming soon to the SERVE website: data analysis tips and data report template.)

SERVE recommends that schools either hire an external evaluator to administer and synthesize the instrument data or locate and use internal expertise.
