Biography:

Diana Bowman

Consultant, Homeless Education

 

A determined advocate for children and youth experiencing homelessness, Diana served as the director for the National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) at the SERVE Center for 13 years. In that capacity, she, worked in the areas of training, technical assistance, document development, webinars, inter-organizational collaboration, conference and meeting planning and hosting, staff coordination and supervision, and policy review. Diana also contributed to the SERVE Center with her considerable writing, editing, program planning, and program coordination skills.

Since retiring as the Director of the NCHE program, Diana has continued to contribute on development initiatives that serve homeless and migrant education children and youth.

 

Diana began at the SERVE Center in December 1998.  Prior to coming, she spent six years at a research and development not-for-profit corporation and 10 years teaching developmental reading and writing on the college level.

 

Diana holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of William and Mary, a Masters of Arts in Art from Marshall University, a Master of Arts in Teaching English Composition from the University of Akron, and a Master of  Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

 

Diana has an extensive background in Art, and in her spare time, she enjoys watercolor painting and photography.
