Head
Start Information—Transition Coordinators and Others
Guiding Transition In States
Support
systems exist at many levels to support Head Start transitions from
local program planning to planning at the state level. Every state has
a Head Start State Collaboration Director whose primary responsibility
is to connect Head Start to other state systems that will further support
Head Start children and families. Head Start State Collaboration Directors
are involved with developing, guiding, and promoting policies that help
to create effective paths of communication between Head Start and other
state systems, such as State Departments of Education, that oversee
the care and education of young children.
