Teacher Growth and Assessment (TGA) is a new comprehensive assessment system that provides a dual foundation for establishing accountability as well as for developing professional growth plans.
The online summative scoring Matrix is an analytic rubric that helps define teacher performance expectations by uniquely describing practice within each dimension at four distinct levels. Administrators can use the scoring guide for judging performance and providing feedback, thus establishing a foundation for the summative process.
Additionally, teachers can use ERMa to guide their own formative assessment process of analyzing their own practice and setting goals for professional growth.
By replacing rating scales with detailed descriptions, the opportunity for greater common understanding among teachers and administrators is established.
The resources linked from ERMa provide teachers and administrators with research, tools, and best practices; thereby, providing a means for increasing understanding of effective teaching practices.
