This two-page guide, complete with clickable hyperlinks, lists the contents of the toolkit by chapter and appendix and will help you know where to look for the resource you need.USDA memos on the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 (P.L. 108-265) expands federal child nutrition programs in several ways to assist homeless, migrant, and runaway children and youth by providing:Family and Youth Services Bureau grantee list The Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) supports local communities in providing services and opportunities to young people, particularly runaway and homeless youth. FYSB does so by awarding funding that enables communities to offer services to young people and their families and to test new approaches to helping youth. The FYSB grantee list provides contact information of local FYSB grantees, separated by region. Local Homeless Education Liaisons are encouraged to contact grantees to establish communication and a collaborative plan for serving local runaway and homeless youth.A Homeless Educator's Sourcebook This manual, published by the Texas Homeless Education Office (THEO), shares perspectives and successful practices on educating children and youth in highly mobile and homeless situations. The lessons included were gained from over 12 years of experience with the McKinney-Vento Act and from working with over 50 LEA grantees. The Department issued updated guidance for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth program (EHCY) in July 2004. |
