The U.S. Department of Education's Education
of Homeless Children and Youths (EHCY) Program allocates funds to each state
on an annual basis. Each state (SEA) then holds a competitive grant process to
determine which school districts (LEA) will receive a McKinney-Vento subgrant
with which to enhance the support provided to children and youth experiencing
homelessness in their district. Following are sample subgrant applications that
may be used as a model for developing a subgrant application in your state.
