annual SERVE Policy Network Meeting
was held November 14–16, 2004. The research examined
included pre-K standards work in the region and nationally,
research on high schools with high percentages of dropouts,
the costs of preparing quality teachers, and a discussion
around teacher mobility in the Southeast.
Education
Policy Program
The
SERVE Education Policy Program co-sponsors the Southern States
Seminar with the SERVE Reading and School Improvement Program.
This meeting brings together state department staff from school
improvement, policy, and federal programs to discuss issues
of school reform. This year's meeting was held in Charlotte,
North Carolina, on January 13–14, 2005.
