Literacy Exploration Activity Plans

SERVE’s Literacy Exploration Activity Plans (LEAPs) are six stand-alone professional development plans that are each four to five hours in length and are downloadable. They include recommended readings, facilitator notes, master copies of handouts, overhead transparencies, and evaluations. The LEAPs topics include reading research, using reading instructional time effectively, instructing struggling readers, assessing spelling, using spelling patterns, and building vocabulary. Some LEAPs are targeted for elementary educators, while others are intended for middle and high school teachers.
